Marketing strategy
Upon launching the product, our initial audience will be commercial businesses and local governments. By reducing the amount of waste in a workplace, it can improve worker safety and reduce liability. ("Why Should You Care About Preventing Waste? Small Business Guide | US EPA", n.d.) As the product carries on in its lifespan, we will also focus on targeting “green consumers” who are people who focus heavily on being eco-friendly and are always searching for techniques to preserve our environment. However, before we target green consumers, we have to first prove ourselves as a company while also proving ourselves as an eco-friendly method.

The team who will work on marketing is the Social Media team, consisting of three diligent students who additionally created a website to delve further into how the ASTRO functions and the problem it is working to solve. This website is made to advance the awareness of ASTRO and will inform consumers about what ASTRO is and what it does.

Biosensor Manufacturers:
As stated before, the biosensors in the ASTRO will be used to distinguish between trash, life, or infrastructure. In order to implement biosensors in the ASTRO, we are looking at biosensor manufacturers who can collaborate with our team to find out the right type of biosensor that we need for our machine. Furthermore, partnering with biosensor manufacturers can help our company figure out exactly where to place the biosensors in our machine by utilizing their experience.
Recycling Plants:
ASTRO will collect items of waste that could potentially be recycled, once the ASTRO properly disposes of the waste, a recycling truck could then transport the recyclable waste to a partnered recycling plant. Increasing the amount of recyclable materials going into these plants can prevent waste that may be collected by traditional garbage trucks from going into landfills and also prevent it from being left unattended.
Battery Manufacturers:
As the ASTRO is an autonomous device, it needs a battery within the machine in order to remain functional. By partnering with battery manufacturers, we can formulate an idea of exactly what type of batteries we need for the ASTRO and the electrical expertise we would need to wire the batteries to the motors.
